StealthGearUSA™ (SGUSA) designs and manufactures premium holsters for concealed firearms carry. They craft every holster from their hand-built molds for each unique concealment demand. Proven in the field by professionals and civilians alike, their gear is also employed by military units the world over.

Stitch Marketing & Research lead by Nate Heckman, partnered with MHC to help SGUSA reimagine itself as it made the transition thru early product success. Stitch’s brand immersion workshops covered all aspects of SGUSA’s business, including brand development, production, packaging, marketing and product development. The research captured key points and areas to put focus. From this we developed the creative brief, a document that outlined the initial direction for building the new identity.

We delivered a new logo and identity package that included the tagline creation “Made Ready”. With the foundation in place we then created product labels and packaging, sub-brand logo marks, set photography guidelines, and provided graphic and marketing support for the new product and brand launch.

We originally kicked off our relationship with PatientSafe Solutions (PSS), named one of Wall Street Journal’s Top 50 Venture Capital-Backed Companies in 2011, through a website development project in partnership local creative group Bulldog Drummond. Bulldog was responsible for the website design and we provided the website development and programming, including: interactive consultation, site wide template development, and custom programming. The website launch was a first phase milestone in the rebranding of this San Diego based company focused on patient safety.

After the website launched we re-engaged to support the product launch of PatientTouch, a handheld, pocket-sized technology that operates on Apple’s iPod touch® platform, developed by PSS. The device is designed to help hospitals ensure accurate clinical decision making, reduce preventable errors, and improve hospital compliance. Through internal reviews with PSS’s marketing department the product launch encompassed ongoing website support, email marketing campaigns, product photography, event literature, sell sheets, announcements, and tradeshow graphic support. Upon completion of the product launch we managed ongoing workflow that included creating new internal document templates for PSS’s PowerPoint presentations and Word Documents for internal usage.

Manufacturing cast-stone furnishings is a full-time job. Add in custom design, retail customers, interior designers, contractors, and dealer requirements and you have a business that runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. When founder Mitchell Brean asked us to assist in the expansion of its marketing efforts, Stone Yard had just expanded its product line to include many contemporary and custom pieces.

Our job was to capture and present the new works in a way that showcased their contemporary nature and novel carving and fabrication techniques. We developed the slogan “Live Artfully” in addition to handling all art direction of product photography. We devised a modular solution for the product catalog that allowed for easy expansion and use by its designers and dealers. The imagery we shot for the catalog was later translated into a direct mail and marketing campaign.

Despite a strong local presence, when the Museum of Photographic Arts (MoPA) reached out for help it suffered from a strong visual disconnect in its overall image. The inconsistency in MoPA’s image reflected negatively in the organization’s attempt to gain recognition and growth through membership, sales and marketing, and donation channels. The solution for MoPA was built on the organization’s reputation for presenting the full spectrum of the photographic medium.

To mark the first phase of MoPA’s new image development, we kicked off with the exhibition, ‘Picturing Eden.’ The goal, conceived and executed a comprehensive visual program including the exhibition announcement, environmental and wayfinding graphics, and a new MoPA membership brochure. Visual highlights include updating the original MoPA logo and typographical refinement, cross media color matching, and standardizing usage to support brand recognition. The exhibition was a great success and launched the next series of marketing initiatives which included templateing of the exhibition announcements for internal usage and design consultation for its website. We also provide the creative for the invitation and regeistration to MoPA’s Academy Awards Gala, a Oscar Night America event.

Our introduction to Pappalecco came from a lunch recommendation. We had a wonderful lunch, enjoyed the personal service, and topped it off with an refreshing Affogotto. Pappalecco “is an Adventure Through the Truth of Italy”, Food, Culture, Art, Style… Essences of Italy.” Our relationship with Francesco and Lorenzo Bucci started after the brothers had journeyed from Pisa, landed in San Diego’s Little Italy, and made their dream a reality with their first restaurant opening.

Our first project was to design and develop its Website which included the restaurant as well as a unique section highlighting Pappalecco Travel, an exclusive offering of itinerary packages thru North, Central, and Southern Italy. This custom integration features a dynamic javascript map that gives the visitor browsing control throughout the map and the destinations. We closed out the online needs with a WordPress Blog and Enewsletter marketing solution. Working with there existing logo we finalized the brands typography usage, created taglines, and formalized the color palette. We then updated the business card design, created a promotional brochure, new menu, and store signage that included food photography. The deliverables closed with a 12 page brand usage guide. Within 14 months of our engagement and the success of the restaurant and our brand approach Pappalecco opened its second location in Hillcrest.

Well-Heeled, Inc., a premium salon and spa start-up, came to us to launch its exciting new concept; a premium salon and spa for the sophisticated male. In our collaborative process, our team developed two simple but powerful brand messages: ‘It’s all in the Details’ and ‘Be a Well-Heeled Man’. It was essential to have both a clear message and visual identity to guide the multitude of materials we would develop as the salon gained momentum to open its doors. Once a brand message and value statement were crafted, we created a timeless visual experience supporting the benefits of relaxation and taking care of yourself.

The first step was to create a logo and visual identity system. Next was the development of an integrated eCommerce website showcasing spa services, grooming tips, and consumer product sales and purchases. While the space was under construction we finalized the brochures, presentation package, gift certificate, thank you card, exterior signage, and assisted with interior space planning. Our final step was to launch an e-newsletter and advertising campaign to generate local buzz for the grand opening.
